Creating an Article

To create a new article in Community Manager, first, select the folder in which you want to create the article then either right click and select “Add Article” or click on the “Add Art” button in the menu.

  • This will take you to the 'Maintain Article Attributes' Page
  • You can add the Admin Name, Public Name, make the article Active and enter a Brief Description
  • Click Save to Create the article
  • You will then be taken to the 'Define Article Layout' page
  • You can choose the width of up to 3 columns in the article, or alternatively select a template
  • Once you have made your selection, click Save
  • This will create the article and take you to the content editor

After adding the attributes and saving the user is taken to the “Define Article Layout” page which allows selection of a template for the article or selection of a 1, 2 or 3 column layout for content.

  • Saving this selection takes the user to the article content screen.
  • Note that you cannot select both a template and a columnar type layout.
  • Selection of a template will provide the content creator with a starting point for creation of the article and subsequent modification of the template will not modify the layout of any articles created from it.
  • This page will not appear if a new article is being created in a folder that has a default template set.
