After selecting to add a new a folder the user gets taken to the “Maintain Folders” page as shown in the tutorial video above.

  • The “Maintain Folders” page allows the folder to be provided with an Admin Name (what you will see on the Folders page) and a Public Name (the users will see this as the title of the webpage when navigating directly to it).
  • By completing the admin name and clicking on the [tab] key, the public name will be automatically filled in.
  • By clicking on [tab]again, the User Friendly URL field will also be completed. This field provides a friendlier URL for this folder rather than one using ID numbers for users of your web site.

  • The Display Option field allows the selection of Public, private or hidden.
    • A public folder is one whose contents will be publicly accessible and not require a user to log in to view its contents. The folder is also able to show as a menu item always.
    • A private folder is one whose content can only be accessed by logging into the website and having the permission to view this folders content. This folder will only appear on a menu once a suitable user has logged in.
    • A hidden folder is one that will not appear on a menu as a sub menu item but does not require login to view its contents.
  • The “Full Access for Security Groups” section allows the selection of the user groups who will have the ability to administer this new folder. By default there are no groups selected. This describes all of the required fields when creating a folder.
